HB583 What it means to us

It’s official, HB 583 has been signed by Gov. Little and we now have very little local control over STR’s as Boise has further tied our hands on dealing with the headaches . Time to get creative combatting what has proven to be a nightmare for the residents of Bear Lake County. In fact, a local voter presented a brilliant plan on how to deal with this but that nobody would have the desire to implement. I would be willing to do so.

Many people I have spoken to are tired of the abuse that has become common with these high occupancy houses that are making housing un-affordable, increasing tax assessments and putting a strain on our local infrastructure.

Here is who voted for this. Note that Josh Wheeler and Mike Veile voted for this while Mark Harris kept his word and voted against.
